"The clearest way into the Universe is
through a forest wilderness." -John Muir

When I was 10, my mother brought her 8 children to Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts. It changed my life forever. I was transported back to Colonial America, and I never left. I still have the two Eric Sloane books she bought for me. "Diary of an Early American Boy" is by far and away my favorite book ever written.

I love the forest. It is so rich with textures and sounds and colors and smells..... the forests are heaven on earth. If I die? I want to go to heaven, so somebody please arrange for me to be buried in a forest. Next to an old babbling brook, in an old farmer's Sugarbush.

I have photo albums filled with trees, and stonewalls. I'm a tree expert. I know every tree there is. You'll be surprised to learn that there's actually only two kinds of trees: Sugar Maples, and NOT Sugar Maples. (and fishing.. I like fishing)
